By Kim BjerregaardI did this piece a few weeks ago, http://aroundmyleedsunited.blogspot.dk/2013/07/spirits-are-high-at-leeds-united.html and as per usual when I become positive about Leeds nothing good comes of it. By now it seems painfully obvious that we're once again looking into the loan market or playing with the average side that we currently have. It seems that we have to move players before we can get in the 4th or 5th signing that Brian McDermott sees as crucial to his team, but how on earth are we supposed to sell players like Pugh, Brown, Norris or Tonge, they have been given too good deals at Leeds for other teams to want to look at them and let's be honest, they are also kind of shit.
So what do we do, we have to put someone in the shop window that could generate some interest, and I'd prefer that player to be El-Hadji Diouf, I think he went from great player to below average after he got his permanent deal last year, and he's not one I can see playing 35-40 games next year, at least not as a starter. I know Diouf is a popular figure with fans and I do like him too, but we need to try and sell someone that might actually end up getting sold, and I think that most fans would agree with me that we will do better without Diouf than without McCormack, Lees or Byram (the other players that might generate some interest). I'll gladly let David Haigh use my idea of a 2 for 1 sale.. Buy Diouf and get Pugh, Brown, Tonge or Norris FOR FREE!! Marching on together.

I think who ever wrote this article is just following the media and just agreeing with what their saying which is sell diouf. Why would we want to sell someone who along with mccormack Is the only real quality we have. He has an excellent touch, keeps possession, passes the ball round and kills off games. It is no coincidence we started conceding late goals when diouf was not playing. I think we will be a valuable squad player who should be brought on to kill off a game or cover for a midfielder or striker. He is a very versatile player and is probably the best backup player In the league if we use him that we if we don't and instead play him starting most games he will still be quality

I don't mate, follow the media that is. I agree Diouf is a fine player to have and to be able to throw in, BUT he earns a lot and imo won't feature to much, if we need a sale for BMD to get his key signing we have to offer up someone that will generate interest, diouf will, pugh etc wont. So of the "sell-able" players we have, I think Diouf is the one we can go on without.

I agree Diouf is quality and we need to keep him. We need to sell players like Brown, Hall, Pugh and White for a cut price or pay up their contracts to get them off our wage bill. ok this means an initial loss in revenue but over the season it will work as a gain. White would raise some money and I don't think he is worth a place in the starting line up so move him on. Someone would be interested in him as he's got pace (just lacks that final ball and not quite got the football brain required)

I agree except tonge, I think he can do a job at this level and can be a valuable squad player.

Kim, agree entirely with your comments about Diouf, great player in his day but didnt pull any trees up last term. he spent more time moaning during the games last season than working. theres an urgent need to get rid of the deadwood in the squad, but who wants them.

If we did that though no one would buy Diouf because they dont want Norris, Brown, Pugh etc draining their resources so they'll look elsewhere

I agree Kim. Dioufy is past his sell by date but has enough quality to attract a team's attention. I like Tonge as backup but Pugh & Co need to go! At an extreme I would probably sell Byram for the greater good if we got £7m +

Why not take the pop up shop a step further , Leeds could pop up in a town nr you with the squad in a mobile shop window ,, with price tags attached ??"!

Mccormack scored 29 in his last 3 years at leeds he is highly over rated. i think if anyone should go its him we sold our last goal scorer in January and never replaced him everyone thought mccormack could step up to the plate. Diouf is a team player and can create chances when given the ball to feet. but i understand what you mean about tounge, brown. .etc nobody wants them sell mccormack for 3 million and buy a goal scorer.

You can't count Ross' first season as it was non existent. Second season he was top scorer and third he was injured most of it. I don't think you're calculations are a fair reflection. Despite being injured a lot of last season he was our leading assister. Top scorer and top assists in last two respective seasons suggests he is pretty integral to me

i would keep diouf he one of the few bits of quality we have. i would be looking to try and agree with 2/3 squad players pay offs. then i would be looking to sign a xmcoupke of players on a season loan.

I agree with Kim the deadwoods in which previous Leeds manager Neil Warnock brought in has proved to be a hindrance than a liability for Brian McDermott's plan. The sooner they're shipped out, the better it will be for all Leeds fans concerned. We need a side with a lot of grit, hunger and determination. And not a group of primadonnas that are just happy to keep us in the championship as a mid-table team.

Well it's going to be a hard long season - after all the frenzy of a takeover it's been bit of an anticlimax - we had a few smokescreens in the cup competitions but we have a lot of below average players and unless we have a cash injection we are going to struggle esp as some of the teams around us are spending and makin significant changes - so here's to more grey hair - bouts of depression. wrinkles and wonder if the life of Brian will really b the saviour - wish it was 1974
