As we head into the busy Christmas period and enjoy not only all the football ahead, but also the shopping and meals; we must remember that some are less fortunate than ourselves.
Working with Lufc, the Leeds United Supporters Trust are asking fans to donate what they can to support two of Leeds’ biggest food banks. The drive will take place tomorrow Saturday 8th December and will be held outside the East Stand prior to the game. Supported by both Leeds United’s CEO Angus Kinnear and the players that many fans will see on Saturday, the need for support has never been bigger as several families prepare for what could be the hardest winter in years. Last year the two food banks had provided food for a total of 18,563 people, which also included 6,901 children. The Leeds United Supporters Trust has given this list of items; Dilute Juice Tins of fish/tomatoes/potatoes/veg Mash/Smash Custard Rice Pudding Cereal Pasta Sauce Long life fruit juice Coffee Toiletries Supporters can also pledge cash donations if they can’t make the game online here: https://bit.ly/2DZSSzw. At work, we’re working on providing the biggest donation we can collect for the hungry and we are sure that most of the people that read this are doing the same. However, any support that can be done for Saturday would not only be appreciated by the club and the Trust, but also families who really need it this year.
