Strong preseason puts winger back in first team picture

Although the exit door seemed to loom going into preseason, Stuart Dallas has shown exactly why fans cry out for him to be more involved.

It was highly expected that history would repeat itself this season, with Dallas only being a bit part player for Thomas Christiansen just like he was for Garry Monk.

The reason Dallas has seen less game time is due to the fact that although he is the best technically gifted winger in the squad, he severely lacks in his ability to beat a man and has very little pace.

Leeds' new head coach Christiansen likes to play with fast wingers that can break on the counter attack and currently has them in abundance with Alioski, Sacko and Roofe all offering that service. This was surely going to put Dallas down the pecking order

However, after a solid preseason under TC bagging three goals and performing consistently throughout, could Dallas be about to reignite his Leeds United career? Yes!

It seems the Northern Irish winger could be set for a start in Sunday's clash with Bolton Wanderers after his stellar performances during preseason and many fans will be overjoyed by the prospect of seeing Dallas more involved this season.

Dallas showed his skill by making an impact on Saturdays final friendly against Oxford United, scoring an incredible curled effort from outside of the box.

Dallas celebrates his third preseason goal this term
The 26-year old is entering the final year of his contract having joined Leeds in 2015 and although has been a solid winger on occasions had failed to live up to the fans expectations.

Now with 12 months remaining on his deal and his native Northern Ireland well placed for the World Cup this season, Dallas will want to fight for his chance to shine at Leeds and then started off well.

Do you think Dallas deserves more playing time? What is his best side? Have your say in the comments below?

Flatters to deceive, has scored a few decent goals preseason but all against lower league teams, goes missing for long periods during a game and really must offer more, OK as an option coming off the bench at best at the moment
