By Keith Ingham![]() The transfer of Lee Peltier from Leicester to Leeds for the now usual 'undisclosed fee' brought in the tenth signing Colin has signed and in total over 2 million pounds in fees for the players brought in. The main problem in the two summers before this one is that not much left Uncle Ken's wallet but quite a few quid went into it. Has the pressure of failing to back a manager previously brought a change of heart or is the money coming from a source outside the club. Either way the quantity of players coming in has raised a few eyebrows. It has to still be seen if Colin gets the striker he says he needs to put a little pressure on Becchio and McCormack and maybe another winger might bolster a small squad which is struggling to get to 20 without the youngsters who have had a few games pre- season. I applaud the manager for his efforts so far this summer and am looking forward to the start of the serious games, starting with Shrewsbury next Saturday in the newly named Capital Cup.

NW has it, stern and focused sense of the Whites future and can't wait it to be fruitful. Tare

as the saying goes quality over quantity but as the worn out cliche goes strength in depth, i think warnock is doing well in the way we don't have any loan players but we do need the winger and striker and if mr bates' pockets are deep enough then a few background squad players

The transfers so far seem to be at odds with the previous Ken Bates policy of selling your best players and not replacing them, or replacing them with frees.

NW is doing a fantastic job for Leeds with little money still spent compared to other clubs. I think the signings are pretty decent and we have had real good value. Would still like to see a proven goal scorer (beckford) and a flair creative player in midfield. Then and only then I reckon we have a great chance. 10/10 for NW so far.

I take my hat off to NW, he has had a very difficult situation to deal with. We all know what Neil is capable of and I am sure he will get the best out of the players. I think it could take some time for them to all gell together though because they are in a bit later than expected for obvious reasons. Also, and I never thought that I would say this, but good on Harvey as well in bringing it all together. I hope that I don't live to regret that last comment, lol

Ken Bates, contrary to what you say, hasn't spent any money, and is still about £2m up on his transfer dealings.
