By Ryan InghamToday saw many Leeds fans jaws hit the ground quicker than Ashley Young after a tap on the shoulder. Although Leeds have been heavily linked with a sudden galvanise of our squad after a handful of poor performances that I was very unwilling to watch. It seems that MacDaddy McDermott has stuck his foot in the ground and told the board that unless they want a back lash of boos that hit the squad after a dismal performance not just against Rochdale, we needed signings. Today saw Leeds United, the team that did not seem to grasp the idea of wingers, sign not only one but potentially two! Cameron Stewart which I see as a very good piece of business on an emergency 93 day loan (as he has played for two teams already this season) with him eventually signing in summer when his contract runs out, on a 3 year deal. A player known in the Championship for his pace and his ability to score a screamer or three and at 22 year old can only mean good business. Following the signing of Stewart, a very short interview with Palace boss Tony Pulis gave is the information we'd hoped for. Jimmy Kebe could well be on his way to LS11. A very strong Championship winger with bags of pace, height and a strong technical head on him. With a view to a permanent I for one will not complain with Brian bringing in a few of his old Reading favourites *cough* Le Fondre *cough*. With these two signings in one day can only mean we mean business this window. I would still not complain with a back up keeper and a striker that could take the goal scoring pressure off Rossco. Kevin Phillips has just been released and has proven pedigree getting clubs up. My new team sheet would include: Kenny
Byram. Zaliukas. Pearce. Pugh Austin. Mowatt. Kebe. Murphy. Stewart McCormack

Austin is a waste of time. Get him out of the team

What Paul said, only Pearce as well. Being charitable, it looks like they can only follow simple instructions. We need people who can do as McD wants.

Still unsure about these two signings we'll see. ....also is the money for investment ..long term or a short term fix...?

I think we need a midfielder even more than a striker; someone experienced to run things, with Murphy and Mowatt rotating beside him.

its nice to think there is a silver lining to the clouds 2 wing men in and a striker adam le fonda hopefully and would help with a backup goalkeeper. Please note as yet no transfere fees has been paid! is the striker going to cost money i wonder. now looking forward to saturday afternoon when we beat shefield wednesday and kick start our push for the play off, UP THE WHITES.

Lets face it , bmac had to adopt the system he did because he didn't really have an option , with these two players he'll have the option to change formations to suit his game plan , Leeds had become predictable and easy for an oposition manager to set his stall out against , with these two pacey wingers Leeds should be tight in defence with a flat back four and a lot more of a threat going forward with pace down either wing , this will also allow Murphy to start showing his true colours by being allowed to venture further up the pitch into his natural position as a attacking midfield player ,,

John B - you are an arse. We have had a bit of a wobble over the Christmas period and you automatically assume that the dressing room is lost. You also think Pearce should be dropped - he has been one of our best players this season - he puts in 110% every game; puts his body on the line in tackles and is our highest scoring defender by a country mile. Who would you rather see in our defence - Lees or Wootton - really!!!! However, I do concede one thing to you - Zalukias should be captain - the guy is a natural leader and is the best centre back we have had at Leeds since Woodgate (in his prime).

Really smart bit of business being done at the moment, January is a time that valuations of players go through the roof, so to get two wingers with good championship (regardless of pedigree) for relative peanuts shows real nous from BMD, I don't think that anyone can say that it shows a lack of investment by the board (Kebe alone would command a decent wage).

I agree with Geoff that so far no transfer fees have been paid so surely that should help buy a Nahki Wells or Adam Le Fondre. Barnes also if he could be persuaded to come here instead of Burnley as he is reputed being sold for 750,000 pounds. Three weeks left of the window being open so you never know, we could be in for another surprise or two.

Great to hear the news today of the strategic tie up the SF 49ers - in todays commerical world money is the key resource to generating success on the pitch.
