After a week most Leeds fans would willingly put behind them. One player, Cameron Stewart, was signed on a 93 day loan which leads to a three year deal with the club. The young twenty year old was wanted by several clubs, including Charlton. But a word with ex Leeds favourite Andy Hughes and it was "where do I sign".
We may not be famous but still have the ability to attract young, hungry players. Having Brian McDermott as manager is a massive influence on players choosing Leeds over others. The ex Salford Red was loaned out by Hull City this season to Charlton and scored a 'worldy' in the 4-2 defeat to Leeds, he has pace and is everything that Ryan Hall didn't have and is expected to make his debut in the televised Sky game at Sheffield.
Leeds are also said to be nearing a second deal, ex Reading wingman Jimmy Kebe who is being loaned out by his present club Crystal Palace. He certainly has pace and was a cornerstone of the Promotion winning Reading squad. They (Leeds) are also said to be interested in Ashley Barnes, the Brighton striker. He was mentioned in the Leeds managers weekly press conference today, Burnley are said to be leading the chase for him if the reports are true.
Certainly a boost after last weekend and hopefully they (Stewart and Kebe) will finally put a end to the 3-5-2 formation and I'll throw my hat in suggesting this could be the formation in the coming weeks :
Byram, Žaliūkas, Pearce, Warnock
Stewart, Austin, Kebe
I see this as a good, effective way of using the players at the managers disposal. Smith and Poleon used as impact players and Peltier and Pugh back up for the full backs. I've a really good feeling that if we can get another striker and a keeper we've a really good chance of getting into the Playoffs come May.
Well done Brian and the board for getting in the players we needed. Just the boost the fans needed.
On On On.
