It's the day after the 6-1 demolition of our once great club, I'm still in shock at the recent failings of players I feel are just not up to playing for Leeds United. I hear you say 'it was against 9 men' but was the 7-3 v Forrest and the capitulation v Preston the year before ?
It takes a certain type of player to handle the pressure of wearing the White shirt and doing it with a certain amount of Pride. It's more than a piece of fabric with an emblem on, it has a massive amount of history behind it, which maybe the current owners of it don't understand or really give a toss about. Modern day players do not seem to have the feeling a player had from back on the day.
We can't be sucked into feeling the current problems are just because of a few men sitting around a
table arguing about money, that would be fool hardy even though nearly six months of it hasn't helped the situation at Leeds.
I suppose I'm asking the players to look in the mirror or even read a book about the club to try and understand the reasons why I'm writing this. I'm sure if they see what the club achieved and the players who've worn the shirt with such pride, they might just think the next time they slip it over their heads it means something major to be part of our club, our LEEDS.
