Although Leeds’ recruitment drive does show a lot of potential for the future, the club need to target an immediate issue if they are to get over this slump.
The Whites have recently been linked with Juventus wonderkid Moise Kean, a brilliant 17-year old with a very bright future. But is this the deal the club needs to be making?
Surely the clubs new scouting network can realise that Kean may not be the permanent striker fix that Leeds needs right now and be scouting options with more experience in football.
Kean may be a record holder for being the youngest player to feature in the top five European leagues but he’s hardly the finished product Leeds need right now.
The Italian youngster who has 13 goals in over 28 caps at youth level for Italy has not transferred his form into league football having only scored two goals in 15 Seria A fixtures while on loan at Verona.
Although the lure of signing a potential wonderkid may sound brilliant on paper, it’s not what the club need. Leeds need a striker who’s been around the block and knows exactly where the goal is, not a temporary youngster who’s got a bright future.
What’s your opinion? Is a move for Kean a misjudgement of our situation? Or is this how we can expect Leeds to do business? Have your say in the comments below.
