So... With the past 24 hours being some of the happiest hours to experience as a Leeds fan in most recent times, with so much happening on all fronts of the football club. I've been left with the overwhelming task of having to sum it all up for your pleasure. Well, here it goes.
I'll start of with Ken Bates' departure from his position as chairman. I have to say that this alone is probably one of the best things to happen to our club in a long time. With GFH, among others, liberating us from old Kenneth's grasp, Leeds fans alike now can look forward to transfer windows in which we keep our star players and no longer replace them with 30+ year old journeymen, with the profits going to the development of a restaurant of the West stand... Jesus.
Although from experience in life, I've found that if things seem too good to be true it probably means they are. So when we signed Luke Murphy earlier today for a reported £1 million pound fee, after the initial emphatic screaming and dancing, I began to worry on where the money had come from. The selling of Byram immediately came to mind although I have reasons to believe Byram won't be leaving for a long time. I even considered investments from life long fan Keith Lemon at one point, but it didn't all add up. So I did a little research and found out GFH transferred some money from another one of their owned company's, which roughly amounts to the £5 million figure mark over to GFH limited (makes it available to us). Transfer kitty bound perhaps?
McDermott has frequently stated how he's looking for 4 or 5 players in area's that we are lacking in, so why spend the largest sum Leeds has spent on any single player since Richard Cresswell in 2005 when we already have eight recognised centre mid-fielders. Why not spend it on a creative winger we have been lacking since the sale of Snodgrass or even a certified centre half to pair with Mr Lees? Well maybe, just maybe we're not so skint after all, and that money transferred, along with extra, will be bound to the pockets of whichever club's player is of our interest. I know it's far too early too say for sure, but under our new owners, manager and team. Leeds can surely make it this season.
On and on...
