The Olympics now over and a summer of uncertainty behind us we start the 2012/13 season with the visit of relegated Wolves, who despite their fall certainly have a few players to worry the best of defences.
Steven Fletcher scored 12 goals in 26 starts which is nearly a goal every other game, Bjorn Sigurdarson, the Icelandic striker who is very popular with the fans and former West Ham striker Frank Nouble The manager is Stale Solbakken a newcomer to the Championship from Norway.
Leeds with 10 new players bought in the summer costing over £2million are expecting this season to be the one that propels them towards the gates of the promised land and certainly line up in a stronger position than they did last year.
I expect a 4-2-3-1 formation with Kenny, Lees, Peltier and Pearce strong in defence, Austin providing the muscle in midfield and Varney and White the flair. Up top hopes are high that Ross McCormack stays and that with a full pre- season behind him Luciano Becchio should be back to his best.
To the fans please back EVERY player who wears the shirt this season.
A nervy 2-1 win for Leeds with goals from Pearce and Becchio
