Leeds United look set to test their pulling power with a midsession move for Ibai Gomez.
The tricky winger has played under Bielsa before during his time at Athletic Bilbao and the pair could now be reunited if Leeds decide to follow up on their interest.
Gomez currently plays for La Liga surprise package Alaves, who currently sit in third place after a stellar start to the season. The Spaniard currently has three goals and one assist in nine games for the Babazorros this campaign.
However, the 28-year old looks set to leave in the summer with his current deal set to expire and no news on any pending negotiations.
Leeds could potentially nab the player for next to nothing in January or agree a Bosnian transfer for next season, if they can beat out higher places competition for the Spaniard.
Gomez would be a talented addition to the current wingers the club have at their disposal and with loanees Jack Harrison, Lewis Baker and Isaiah Brown all set to return in the summer; Leeds will need new signings planned in to replace them.
Predominately a right sided winger, he can also play on the left or in an attacking midfield role; handing Leeds some much needed versatility in what is a very small squad.
Could a move for Gomez be fruitful? Or should Leeds set their sights on targeting more domestic signings? Have your say in the comments below.
