Leeds United have been linked with a fresh move into the transfer market as the days to deadline creeps forward.
The Whites have been patient in the transfer window, carefully selecting their transfers and finding the right targets to fit new Head Coach Marcelo Bielsa’s scheme.
With Leeds continuing to target fresh additions in all areas, one position still seems light, centre back.
Recent rumours from Persian Football on Twitter suggest that the Championship club have stepped into the race for Iranian centre back Morteza Pouraliganji.
The 26-year old is now a free agent having departed Al-Sadd and has seen a deal with Turkish side Trabzonsor fall apart due to failing to agree terms.
Leeds could join the race in the final furlong and resolve their centre back demand with one foul swoop, relieving some of the pressure for the few defenders the club currently have.
The defensive pairing of Liam Cooper and Gartano has looked solid in Leeds’ first two opening fixtures and along with the addition of Pontus Jansson Leeds do have the quality, but are lacking quality with only development squad players to be used as backup.
If Leeds are to seal the deal for Pouraliganji, they could receive a very experienced and talented defender to help out during a very long season. While the transfer window still continues to wind on, check out voetballgokken.eu for their latest sports news
The summer may still bring some surprises when it comes to incomings at Elland Road.
