Following a dismal run of poor performances, the team need to get their act together for the trip to Sheffield Wednesday on Saturday. Another Yorkshire derby is just what we need right now... A game that could go either way, as derby games tend to go.
After the disappointing F.A cup exit to the hands of Rochdale, the team were made to approach the thousands of Leeds fans who showed no reluctance in letting the players know how they felt about that performance. I just hope the players have learned a valuable lesson from that defeat and pick up their game on Saturday.
With the game being shown live on television and no doubt a huge support from the fans, there is no better time to show everyone what they can actually do when they put their minds to it and concentrate on winning the game. There will be a lot of anxious eyes on the team, watching a new addition or two and if the team have fire in their belly again. I hope so, because this is something I have noticed to be seriously lacking of late.
I am confident the team will give us a much better show and of course I hope for 3 points, but even a good, solid, hard-working effort is enough to give praise to. I would like to think that Brian McDermott will lead the players over to the Leeds fans at the end of the game in order to show them the support they will get if they put a shift in. Surely they saw the disappointment from the fans recently, so seeing a positive sign from the fans will be a welcomed dose of confidence.
Brian McDermott and the coaching staff do all they can, off the field. It's down to the players to perform when they are on the pitch.
The stage is set for you Leeds United, go out there and make us proud. It's in your own hands and always remember that we will support you no matter what. However, that doesn't mean we always have to accept no matter what kind of performance...
