Leeds United could be tempted to add bonus firepower in January as they target a National League forward.
According to Team Talk, the Whites are targeting on fire forward Macauley Bonne to add more competition for places leading the line at Elland Road. Bonne has been in scintillating form for Leyton Orient as they continue to tear up the National League, contributing 16 goals in 21 appearances this season. The 23-year old now has 38 goals in 65 appearance for the O’s having been a major part of the club’s return to form and potential challenge to return to the Football League. Leeds are said to be keeping tabs on the forward, who is also being monitored by several Championship clubs including Derby County, Nottingham Forest and Norwich City, a team he has spent time at during his youth days. Bonne started his career at Ipswich Town before moving to rivals Norwich and finally ending up at Colchester United. He then made 75 appearances before making the move to Leyton Orient. Although many fans will be surprised of the calibre of forward Leeds are keeping tabs on, both Kemar Roofe and Jermaine Beckford came from teams in divisions below and both have shown their talent follows them to the Championship level. Do you think that Bonne could help fire Leeds to promotion or should the club focus on other positions? Have your say in the comments below. By Ryan Ingham
