Leeds United have completed the signing of Sporting Club de Portugal winger Hadi Sacko on a season-long loan, with a view to a permanent deal.
Sacko, who can occupy a number of attacking roles, becomes United’s third signing of the summer following the arrivals of Marcus Antonsson and Kyle Bartley last week.
The 22-year old midfielder, who has been capped at various levels in the French youth teams (16’s, 18’s, 19’s and 20’s) started his career at Bordeaux in France and is regarded as a speed merchant who is blessed with raw ability.
When Sacko joined Sporting Lisbon back in 2014 from Bordeaux, he signed a six-year contract and has now joined Leeds on a season-long loan deal with a view to a permanent signing.
According to Yorkshire Evening Post reporter Phil Hay, Sacko has a €60m release clause in his contract and he joined Leeds last Sunday on trial from Sporting Lisbon as he was pictured in Ireland when the team arrived on Sunday Evening. However, it's suspected that any permanent move will fall way short of that figure.
I believe he will be a great signing for Leeds and I can see us having a good chance of promotion.
Leeds will be playing two games during their training camp in Ireland, Shelbourne on 13 July and Shamrock Rovers on 16 July.
