t seems it wasn't only the senior team that had a successful summer of recruitment at Leeds. The Lufc development squad also boasted around eight new arrivals to their squad, in a bid to allow integration between Leeds' successful academy and new foreign talent ready to be promoted to the senior squad when called upon. Victor Orta and his gang of worldwide scouts have been busy recruiting youngsters from across Europe to bolster the youth ranks at Leeds and the latest signing is Oliver Sarkic. The young Montenegrin forward joins the club on a half season loan from Portuguese supremos Benfica after a late deadline day move from Leeds was accepted by Fifa. Sarkic is predominantly a forward and has joined his goalkeeper brother in English football who is currently on loan at Wigan. It's believed the 20-year old had previously been on trial at Premier League outfit Swansea, but the player did not do enough to secure a permanent spot at the club. Sarkic now joins a plethora of young foreign talent in the Under 23's with stars like Oriol Rey, Kun Temenuzhkov, Ousama Siddikki and Alex Machuca signing from prominent Spanish clubs. Another young signing was Bright Hosannah who joined the club having been released from Crystal Palace earlier in the summer.
With Leeds looking to continue it's stellar record of young talent emerging from its academy, the new foreign signings can only add to the glory of the once famed Leeds academy. Can these players be the next to burst on the scene at Elland Road? We hope so. By Ryan Ingham

Lewis Cook, Charlie Taylor, Sam Byram, Ronaldo Viera, Kalvin Philips, all recent star graduates....hardly a case of being "once famed!"
