Heart of the City

On Thursday, Leeds United announced on the website that a 'pop up' shop is to be opened in Trinity Walk, the new shopping centre in Leeds before the official  start of the 2013/14 season on August the 3rd.

This is another welcome boost to re- engage the people and fans in the city centre after a very long time away. The old store was at the bottom end of Leeds and is now a 'Wilko' store I think, I spent many hundreds of pounds in the shop, shirts, coats, souvenirs, calendars, I even bought some Leeds United rock for my son, it was 10p.

The best thing about having a store there was even casual trips to the city centre could be finished or started with a look around to see what was new or even better
reduced. Indeed you could buy your tickets there then look around a mini museum
showing various memorabilia of the 'Glory Years' and a massive team photo of 'O'Leary's babies' the 2000/01 Champions League line up. My son somewhere has a photo of himself alongside a certain Mr Smith.

These were good years for both the city and the club and it's to be hoped that the reintroduction of it brings back the better times for both the club and the already well respected city centre.

How things have changed since Mr Bates left.

On On On.

You did notice that the 'pop up shop' is only running throughout August. Ending on the 31st.. Read, don't scan. No matter how 'exciting' it feels, it's still just a petty piece cheap marketing. Hopefully it can aid in a bigger better organisation to come in and take over.. But please, no red bull!

I did read and it could last longer if successful. If you don't like what I write don't bother to read it

Touchy, surely you blog to receive discussion, and if you don't like a little criticism, then you're in the wrong game pal.

Yes, we all would like to see if it'll become a more permanent thing for the city, but as with all things GFHC, they clutching at straws to try and get investment in as there's no money in the safe.

If they do the marketing right, spending a bit as they go, then they may get the big investor in to help push Leeds back to where they should be, Premier & Europe!

Take your negativity and stick it up your ARSE!!!!! I am sick and tired of so called 'Fans' bad mouthing a great club! Yes it is only for a month, but it is an effort to re-engage with the TRUE fans of Leeds United Football Club. Plus have you ever thought that if this is a success, they may even bring a supporters shop to the City Centre permanently?

Got to say GFH are doing a good job of undoing all of Bates' mess.. Will hopefully lead to a permanent store in the centre again MOT!
