Jordan Stevens gets a six week ban from all football activity and a fine for illegally betting on games last season, very harsh but hopefully the youngster will learn from this error in judgement.
Kalvin Phillips signs a five year deal that hopefully keeps his admirers at arms length. The best news the fans had waited all summer for. His contract takes him to one of the highest earners at the club. Well deserved too.
What Marcelo and Kalvin said ... pre Barnsley

Last time we met

Top two in the Championship lose at home. Charlton 1-0 to Birmingham City and Swansea 1-0 to Forest. Leeds need a win tomorrow to climb over their nearest rivals and go top.

Leeds leave it late to secure Yorkshire Derby win

Eddie gets another goal.
Daniel Stendel: "I'm proud. We played as well as we can. When you created so much against Leeds it's a really good game. Not easy, but you need to take your chances in the right moment. Not happened today. Second half the pressure came from Leeds, but we had big chances too. Ten minutes missed to take one point. You can see why they have ambitions to win promotion this year. Disappointed, but this is how we need to play every week and score(goals)."
Marcelo Bielsa: It was a match we deserved win, but could have lost and drawn. Very good opponent, we have to say it. A young team. They ran a lot, Always trying to play. I think the team is better than the addition of each player they have. Congratulations to their manager and players as well. An honest team. Honestly, it's incredible this league. It's so special to me that one team like this is at the bottom of the table.
After Leeds reclaimed ‘top spot’ in the Championship David Watkins wonders when Helder Costa and Eddie Nketiah will be be ‘un-leashed’ and start. Hard to argue with the valid points the Leeds United author makes.
Thank you David.
Impressive, hard working, determined and deserved victory at a place we’ve only recently started getting good results there. Hard to pick out single players, because it was a team effort that brought the three points back home to West Yorkshire.
Myself watching it via an iPad in Portugal thought Casilla pulled off a couple of much needed saves when called upon, White and Cooper were decent, Phillips was excellent once again and like my friend DW says it can only be a matter of time that Helder and Eddie are starting games instead of finishing teams off when called from the bench.
A bloody good win. Four outings in the grey and pink shirt and five away wins in total. Just need the home form to pick up now.
Celebrating at full time in Portugal
Gaetano Berardi, Barry Douglas, Mateusz Bogusz, Jack Clarke, Eddie Nketiah, Tyler Roberts and Luke Ayling all featured for Leeds U23s vs Watford U23s at Elland Road. Leeds won 6-0 with goals from Struijk, Nketiah(2), Roberts(p), Gotts, Ayling.
Adam Pope Tweeted that the BBC has had this statement from the security firm employing the stewards at Barnsley FC: “We are aware of several incidents that took place on Sunday and are in the process of investigating these in partnership with the club and South Yorkshire.
“Unfortunately we cannot comment on individual incidents, suffice to say that we take all incidents involving ours staff extremely seriously."
Heidi Haigh on a slow-moving, rainy journey to South Yorkshire but the day brightened up with a hard fought win over Barnsley
Thank you Heidi.
Unbeaten and winning all our opening away games and sitting top of the Championship virtue of scoring more goals than Swansea. Eddie Nketiah is knocking loudly on Marcelo Bielsa’s office door with goals in nearly every game he’s played in a white or grey/pink shirt. Sunday’s goal was followed by a brace against Watford in the under 23’s on Monday.
My advice to Bielsa, if I may be so bold. UNLEASH THE BEAST!
Bring on Derby County.
