The win over Fulham was Marcelo Bielsa’s 50th win since taking over at Leeds and he has done it in 94 games, the quickest any manager has done it in the history of the club.
David Watkins reviews the 3-0 win over over one of our rivals for a top two place.
Thank you David. I bet a couple of decent malts went down on Saturday night and great you can keep in touch with your mates you usually travel to games with. Appreciate the kind words too my friend.
How different can social media be, last week some players were villains. This weekend they became heroes as Leeds put Fulham’s promotion hopes to the sword, or so it seems and pushes themselves a little closer to the Premiership.
Who said “Football can be a funny old game!”
Gjanni on the ‘crowdies’
The Athletic’s Phil Hay tweeted that Ben White is expected to be offered a new and improved contract when he returns to his parent club Brighton. The centre back has impressed whilst being on loan at Leeds and in the two games he played against Fulham’s Mitrovic he never gave the striker a look in.
Aleksandar Mitrovic is being investigated by The FA after smashing his elbow into Ben White’s jaw inside two minutes yesterday. Fulham’s striker threw his right arm into the Leeds United defender’s face after the latter had cleared the ball long from deep in Saturday’s opening exchanges.
The thoughts of a Fulham fan. Not very happy methinks!
Thanks to Fulhamish.
The last word on the Fulham game. Pretty happy fans on the YEP ‘jury’ give their views on the impressive win.

‘Jacky’ Harrison celebrates with the selfies in the Revie Stand. The winger was also listed in the sky bet EFL Championship team of the weekend along with teammate Pablo Hernandez.
Fulham striker Aleksandar Mitrovic has been suspended for three games for elbowing Ben White in Saturday's 3-0 Championship loss against Leeds United.Mitrovic, 25, caught the defender with his elbow three minutes into the match at Elland Road. The incident was not seen by referee Tony Harrington at the time but the Serbia striker has been punished retrospectively after accepting a charge of violent conduct by the Football Association.
Pablo Hernandez on his chances of playing against Luton on Tuesday night: "Obviously I am not 100 per cent but I feel good, I feel I can play and I can help the team. The last decision is for the manager but I know the situation, now it's important to win games. It doesn't matter if I play more minutes or less, if I can help for 10 minutes I'd give everything, if he decides 45 then 45, if 90 then 90. All the players need to get ready to play.
"I have experience of this type of circumstance, I know I need to manage it. I won't play always but I know I need to manage it."
Nathan Jones on the trip to Leeds: “It will be a wonderful test, we’re in a good position, good shape. Leeds is the most difficult place to go in the Championship. We’ve probably got the toughest of starts, apart from Brentford but we’ve embraced it, we haven’t cried about it, we haven’t been scared about it so we’re moving in the right direction.
“Four points in two games, I would have taken that all day long and now we go to Leeds trying to add to it.”
Leeds v Luton Town
Team News: Leeds unchanged for the third game since the restart. Pablo Hernandez on the bench and Robbie Gotts replaces Jordan Stevens. Luton make five changes; Bree, McManaman, Tunnicliffe, Hylton come into the starting line up. Ex Leeds loanee ‘Izzy’ Brown starts on the bench for the ‘Hatters’. Martin Cranie comes in as a late replacement for Glen Rea. Jacob Butterfield is on the bench.

Marcelo Bielsa: "What Luton did was right. They played honest, they didn't foul, the referee didn't have an impact in the match. But what is true is that we had lots of chances to score and they had just one chance.
"The opponent had one chance to score and we needed 12 chances to score one goal. We played against a team who defended with all their players in the goal and we had 12 or 15 chances. We allowed them to shoot just twice and that is something positive for us. But we cannot ignore that the lack of efficiency was the weak point for our team."
Luton's Nathan Jones: "It's a great point. I'd have liked to have been a little bit more penetrative, but I'd have taken that. This is the hardest place to come to in the league.
"These are the best side in the league for me. They come at you, they are relentless, they know what they are doing, they've got good players and structurally they are superb, they've been together for two years - and it's a great point."
David Watkins bemoans the lack of finishing that cost Leeds two points and asks for an improvement on Saturday or we could be biting our nails.
Thank you David. Agree totally that you stick a proven goalscorer in this team and we’d probably be ‘home and hosed’.
The Square Ball shared on Twitter that Bamford was indicating to Luton’s Izzy Brown that he lost sight of the cross in the Elland Road floodlights, with Costa indicating something similar.
As a result, supporters blasted the Leeds duo and made their feelings clear on social media. Two fans described their gibbering as a “cop-out” and a “desperate excuse” to deter from their own mistakes, while another stated that he has simply, “had enough”.
Leeds have decided not to extend the loan deal of Jean-Kevin Augustin until the end of the season. ‘Big Kev’ as he was nicknamed by the club’s fans has only played 48 minutes of first team football since his arrival at the club. He will return to his parent club Red Bull Leipzig.
We wish the player all the best in the future.
Wigan Athletic have entered administration, it has been confirmed. The Latics have become the first club to enter administration since the coronavirus pandemic struck.
A spokesman by the administrators said that buyers are ‘urgently’ been sought to save the club from going under. The ‘Latics’ are currently 14th in the Championship and have won all three games since the restart.
Later in the day the EFL confirm Wigan will be deducted 12 points at the end of the season for entering administration. Sanction will apply to next season in League 1 only if they finish in Championship relegation places before the points are deducted.
He scored a great goal in the San Siro but faces another battle to recover after major surgery.

Premier League Champions were given a guard of honour by Manchester City before the game but then they battered them 4-0 at the Empihad.
Last time we met.
Leeds 2-1 Blackburn Rovers 09/11/2019. Championship.
The games are coming thick and fast, two games a week are stretching the resources of Marcelo Bielsa’s small squad. Already they look to be without Stuart Dallas for at least the game on Saturday against Blackburn and probably the home game with Stoke City.
Hopefully captain Liam Cooper should recover from limping out of the draw with Luton Town on Tuesday to resume his partnership with Ben White. The Leeds defence is one of the meanest in European football with more clean sheets than anyone.
Pablo Hernandez has been introduced as a second half substitute in both the Fulham and Luton games, the Spaniard has stated that he’s less than 100% fit but Bielsa may include him at Blackburn after two impressive performances. If he does it has to be seen who will miss out, but Patrick Bamford once again is expected to lead the line.
Blackburn haven’t lost at home since September and are only a few points outside the top six so Leeds will have to be wary of the challenge that they will face. There is no room for error as the chasing pack have games that they should win so United really need the three points on offer.
A draw wouldn’t be a disaster, a defeat might just increase the ‘noise’ that is doubting that Leeds can finish the job this season. Leeds 2-1.
Blackburn Rovers vs Leeds United
Team News: Two changes for Leeds; Barry Douglas and Gjanni Alioski come on to the starting eleven in place of Stuart Dallas and Helder Costa both out injured. Blackburn make three changes; Lenihan, Travis, Gallagher come in for Mulgrew, Downing, Samuel.
Team: Meslier, Ayling, White, Cooper(c), Douglas, Phillips, Klich, Harrison, Roberts, Alioski,

Blackburn's Tony Mowbray: "I think we made a game of it in the first half particularly. Obviously we missed a one-on-one and hit the post and they scored at strange times, just as we were getting back in the game.
"They come with an attitude that they believe they're going to win football matches. They've got very good players and they spend a lot of time in your box. I think their right-back was in our box 100 times today, but I don't think the gap was massive."
Marcelo Bielsa: "Klich played a great match today. He was the player who balanced the whole team. It was very difficult to imagine which kind of match we were going to have.
"The opponent was playing with different shapes today, and they made some modifications we didn't expect with (Sam Gallagher) on the right, (Joe Rothwell) on the left and (Armstrong) as the centre forward. That was new today."
Lee Johnson was this evening relieved of his role as Bristol City Head Coach. Current Assistant Head Coach Dean Holden will take over immediately in a caretaker capacity as the club look to appoint a successor.
A big name is needed to fill little shoes! Bye bye Lee 🤣
