Yesterday brought the news that Lewie Coyle had extended his stay at Elland Road prior to departing on a season long loan.
The talented full back made nine appearances for the first team last season and is expected to be a key figure in the seasons to come.
The fact that Coyle has signed improved terms that keeps him for one season longer than his previous deal and won't conclude until 2020, shows the fact that Radrizzani is clued up as owner of Leeds United.
Gone are the days of signing young players on high potential to short contracts and losing them on the cheap.
Coyle's three year deal makes him not the only player to have signed improved terms this week at Elland Road with no fewer than twelve Leeds youngsters signing contract extensions.
The players included academy stars Eoghan Stokes, Tom Pearce and Matty Downing all penning contracts until next summer.
The other academy stars to sign two year extensions are; Samuel Amissah, Robbie Gotts, Alfie McCalmont, Jamie Shackleton, Liam Kitching, Alex Wollerton and academy player of the year Callum Nicell.
While some of these players may be looking to break into the first team this season, the opportunity won't be there for Coyle to cement his place in the squad.
Instead, Leeds have opted to allow Coyle to go out on loan for the season to pick up valuable first team experience at Fleetwood Town.
The Trawlermen are currently managed by former Leeds boss Uwe Rosler and look set for a stellar campaign in League One next season.
Coyle will follow in the same footsteps as former Leeds left back Charlie Taylor, who's spell at Fleetwood is said to have been the reason he got the chance to step up to the first team squad at Leeds.
With Leeds now short of full backs with only Gaetano Berardi, Luke Ayling and Tyler Denton at the club, it remains to be seen whether Thomas Christiansen will now look to bring in another defender as he focuses on a centre back to partner Pontus Jansson.
What do you think of the move to offer new deals at Leeds? And who do you think will be the next breakout star for Lufc? Have your say in the comments below!
