It’s no secret Leeds will be looking for reinforcements this January.
The club are currently sitting somewhat comfortably in the playoff positions and Thomas Christiansen will be hoping a few additions can continue his promotion push.
One position that could be set for an addition is the role of centre back, with Leeds looking somewhat thread bear when it comes to backups.
Although the club have loanee Matthew Pennington and Conor Shaughnessy, it’s widely suspected that Leeds may add another to their ranks.
With news that Steven Caulker has left QPR by mutual consent, Leeds could get a cut price centre back who could even rival Liam Cooper and Pontus Jansson for a starting place.
The centre back hadn’t featured for the R’s since September and now only at the age of 26 he’s looking to restart his career.
Caulker has had a rough time as of late, he revealed that he had been suffering from depression in June but a fresh start could just be the thing to get him back to his best.
The former Liverpool loanee is a brilliant defender on his day and is a lot better than some of the options Leeds may be forced to look at.
Strong in the air, quick and a leader in defence, Caulker could be exactly what Leeds need as they enter the business part of the season chasing promotion.
What do you think? Could Caulker be a good move for Leeds? Have your say in the comments below.
