By Farai DizaMany Leeds fans have questioned Brian McDermott's ability to lead the Whites back to the Premiership after the self proclaimed master of promotions - Neil Warnock - failed to navigate the club past the rigours of the Championship.
But this season might just bring some stupendously good news for all those that are moaning and for those who are half full. Having witnessed recent developments in the new arrivals department, this team will improve under McDermott and we will have a good run in this season. BM is building and it will take time. Next season some players will go and new additions will be made. BM will bring in decent players and the players that he has brought in will improve and become fan favourites. In the passing of time we will have a good side which will gain promotion to the premiership. Will we have a really good side in the premiership? Well that depends on how good Salah Nooruddin and David Haigh really are? The good teams that don't have rich owners have very good business skills and know how to build and sell their brand, bring in the best players under the best managers. Only time will tell. This season will be better than last season and next season will be better than this season. I really do believe that this will come.

Absolutely agree. Two disappointments in Murphy and Hunt but so far so good.

How can you say that Murphy is a disappointment?? Give the lad a chance, I believe that he will be a very important player for us this season, and we'll all be singing his praises by early 2014.

Agree with Hunt being disappointment but Murphy has time to establish himself as a key player due to his age and potential!

Are you serious pal? Ye hunt hasn't bang any goals yet but he works hard and is good with young players coming up, very good role model and professional. Murphy is pure class once the lad gets used to the pace of play fully he will 1 of the best you can alresy see his passing is 1 step ahead of the rest of the team. But its easy for you to make judgment in ur arm chair ent it kid

Last game of U21 v Barnsley once again Chris Dawson was substitued in second half. What is the matter with him McD? As I have seen some games regarding the Whites during decades so what is going on? CD has this little thing in game called "unorthodox" unpredictability and this is my stern view here. EHD and CD working together in the hole 80/20% this season and going forward.

I like your spirit. What else can you do when youve been left with a squad of unwanted and had all your potential taken from you. It will come good!

Wish this was the case, but i do not share your optimism!! How are we going to compete with parachute payments when u have the likes of qpr splashing the cash? The only time we will get promoted is when substantial envestment is made on the team, mcdermott is good but he will have to be a miracle worker to do anything with that team.

Of course we will prevail without huge amounts of cash. A good scouting system, youth, careful investment and BM! Championship teams do get promoted, not just parachutists! Also, we will have more cash as contracts run down and the debenture on the season ticket money to pay for the executive boxes is paid off. We will prevail and like a might White wave coming in shore the impact will be felt far and wide!

Brian took over a club in massive disarray. He will gradually mould a good team over time.

I agree with this as I think two many fans are extreme based on individual results. Honestly we're in 10th right now and some are convinced "we're going down."

You are joking right? White never performed at a consistently good level and was given many chances - hopefully he finally takes this one and comes back a more consistently good player. Austin is a player that Leeds have needed for a long time, and he is integral to this team going forward.

Agreed! BMcD needs at least 2 years (from now) to get his team in place. Huge investment means an influx of players concerned with pay cheques and not Leeds. I'd rather pick up 3 players BMcD chooses every summer for a 1-2M, and losing some of the deadwood. Also the scouting system he'll put in place with put us in good stead whatever. Btw I get the impression the scouting budget was cut externally - to be invested more internally on our youth. Not trying to back Bates in away here because I hate him but there has been an obvious increase in quality in our youth set up - or maybe its because we don't have the choice but to play them! MOT

I agree with the gist of the article (in BMc we trust), but the absence of any specific references or illustration renders it all a little meaningless and inconsequential.

It's now all about building for next season for Brian McDermott and finally weeding out the rubbish, but there is a lot of rubbish to be weeded out before the start of next season. Pearce looks extremely shaky in every game that he plays and I honestly don't know how much worse that he has to play, to be finally dropped from the team.

Austin is solid and deserves his place in the team. I do have optimism but I've been optimistic for the last 5 years I think I may actually believe it this time, and its definitely not too late to write off playoffs. But it may actually be beeter another year in this division if we can get a solid squad to gel then when we go up we are less likely to come straight back down. And yes the kit does look like a bloody regal pack making me want to start smoking again and I been quit for a year!
