Ahead of Saturday’s clash with Yorkshire rivals Hull City, I spoke with Jordan Marsh. A man that once used to destroy me in five a side who’s now making his own steps into football management.
How long have you supported the Tigers?
Ive supported Hull City since I was 9 years old. My first ever game was my ninth birthday which was the last ever game at Boothferry Park.
What’s your favourite moment as a Hull fan?
My favourite moment has to be our play off final win against Bristol City in 2008, to see us reach promotion to premier league for first time in our history was an incredible feeling.
Tell us about a player that you were proud to have on the back of a shirt, even if you didn’t?
Proud to have Ian Ashbee on back of my shirt. True leader and legend. Only person ever to captain a team from the bottom division to the top, oh how we miss someone like him now!
What’s your most memorable moment playing against Leeds?
Most memorable moment against leeds has to be our 3-2 win at your place a few years ago, i know score line sounds like it was a close game but we controlled that game from start to finish, and it was our first win at Elland Road for a long long time.
Who do you need in the transfer market?
Well as things stand we have 11 senior players out injured! But we desperately miss Abel Hernandez so id say we need to buy a striker in January.
What’s your realistic aim for the season?
Realistic aim for the season, improve our form and stop conceding goals from 85th min onwards, the amount of points weve dropped late on is ridiculous.
You’ve made your own first foray into management, how are you finding it?
Yeah a manager at 24! Never thought id even become a manager let alone at this age, its not going too bad, ive got a good bunch of lads that listen and work hard which is all I ask for.
Who in your mind is going to be promoted this season?
Wolves are looking strong, Cardiff will probably end up going up with them, and for the other im tempted to say Villa... but there will be a dark horse somewhere along the lines.
Who’s your danger man?
Our danger man, on his day is Grosiki but depends if he turns up or not, hes too hit and miss at minute unfortunately.
Can you tell us about a rising star in the youth ranks?
Rising star in youth ranks, Jarred Bowen has had a great start to season and young Max Clarke at full back looks promising.
Prediction and scorers for the game?
My head says 3-1 leeds but my heart says 1-1 draw. Lets hope my heads wrong. Scorers, siaz for you lot and bowen for us
We’d like to thank Jordan for taking the time to answer our questions and wish him the best of luck for both Hull’s season and his next full season as a manager.
