Proper football returns on Saturday as Leeds clash with Burton Albion and with Leeds now unbeaten in the regular season they come up against a tricky side who got the better of us once before last season.
Ahead of the match, I spoke with Derek Wainwright, a professional wine and beer taster (it's a real job!) about all things Burton Albion FC.
How long have you been a Brewer?
Always followed the Brewers, but also Forest as our family followed Cloughy. When Burton got promoted to League football then had to choose one and my home town won.
Who was your most memorable player?
Darren Stride as he was longest serving player and "one of our own"
What was your most prominent moment as a Burton fan?
On the pitch at Doncaster when we got promoted to the Championship. The dream goes on & on
You lost a good player in Jackson Irvine in the summer. Apart from that how do you feel about this summers recruitment?
Yes, Irvine is a great player. However the signings are looking good too. Great to have Murphy back, Lund looking a good signing, and more attacking players this season.
Luke Murphy is back at the Pirelli for another term from Leeds, how has he been doing and are you a fan?
He's excellent. Can't believe you let him come back. Was my player of the second half of last season. Can we buy him please (at a price we can afford)
Jimmy Floyd Hasselbank is back in management in League One, do you think he can recreate the magic he did while at the Pirelli?
JFH took on a solid team and improved it at Burton. Team spirit was good and players gave him everything. Was a master at 1-0 to the Albion, so may not have been that exciting at times to watch. He will do a good job for the Cobblers.
You gave us quite the lesson in underestimating your opposition last April, can we see a reoccurrence this time out?
I think Leeds will be more wary. However, could start quickly and try to nick a goal.
Who are your three to be Promoted this season?
Cardiff (Warnock ex-Albion) & Middlesbrough to get automatics then from the play offs one of many in with a shout including Leeds.
Who do you think will be relegated this year?
Bolton,Bristol, and one may drop unexpectedly like Norwich or Birmingham. We should be ok.
Prediction and scorers for Saturdays clash?
A 1-1 draw hopefully. Sordell has a touch of class and may fizz a 20 yarder in from open play.
We'd like to thank Derek for taking the time to answer our questions and wish him the best of luck for the season in what could once be a tough but enjoyable fight for the Brewers.
