Well, I’m gutted about that result if i’m honest, right from the off we had a foothold in the game and arguably we had a better share of the chances in the first-half but once again our attack failed to convert any of them.
Now this is where it gets really confusing for me, I have absolutely no idea what Ian Holloway said to them at the break but they came out and looked like a completely different team in the second half conceding two completely avoidable goals in my eyes in terms of man marking, then when we’re trying to get back in the game, Holloway took off Josh Scowen, our main box to box midfielder (and in my mind, the best QPR player on the pitch) and replaced him with Grant Hall, a centre back.
Holloway was essentially conceding defeat by taking off Scowen and when our fortunate goal went in, it was too late to change systems again and then you lot went up the other end and scored your third.
My analysis is, Matt Smith simply did not pose an aerial threat the whole game apart from one chance in the first half, our midfield were good again, defence and forwards were simply not good enough, purely out of laziness (Smith) and lack of confidence (Washington).
Very worrying performance considering we’re approaching the festive run of fixtures. Take nothing away from a brilliant Leeds performance, Ayling was my standout player for you lot, dictated the right flank and had a hand in the majority of Leeds’ dangerous attacks,
Kemar Roofe scored a hattrick but could have easily had four or five. Saiz, Alioski and Jansson also put brilliant performances in, thoroughly deserved win for Leeds.
This isn’t to do with the game but the Leeds away support was brilliant too, they’re worthy of a mention too!
