After years of shopping last minute at the bargain bins of other clubs, with mainly loan players coming in. Leeds finally brought in some 'quality' as Mr Eddie Gray usually says on the clubs radio site. It's tinged with a little sadness as Luciano (cost less than Berbatov and scores more goals!) Becchio left to join the team who seem to be collecting ex Leeds players.
The swap brought Steve Morison in and he's a no nonsense centre forward, a little more mobile than the Argentinian. He's certainly been a thorn in our side when he played for Millwall, he got the winner in a 3-2 defeat a few years ago. In my opinion it's a good deal for the club and a bonus to the squad.
Stephen Warnock in on a free will hopefully sort the problem left back position, although Aidy White has
played well in the last two games. He's a solid player who was in the England squad a few years ago. Another good addition in my view.
The last to come in was Habib Habibou, a striker on loan until the end of this season, with a view to a permanent signing. He started to tell Twitter he was coming over last week. Neil Warnock liked what he saw so signed him. His YouTube clips are certainly worth a look and for a big man he has skills and again a good signing.
Just a shame we missed out on a winger as it's something we've missed this season, maybe a loan could solve that, with Burke or Boyd mentioned already.
With Tonge, Hall and loanee Ross Barkley already signed and El-Hadji Diouf plus Sam Byram on longer contracts, it's been a very good January and the push for the play- offs starts now!
